Winter Daugavpils. Latvia
Daugavpils is the second largest and most important city in Latvia after Riga, located on the Daugava River, near the border with Lithuania. It was founded in 1275 as the Dinaburg fortress and over time became the cultural, educational and industrial center of Latgale.
Every year, Daugavpils turns into a fairy-tale city, and this year is no exception. The central place of the festive magic is Vienibas Square. This year, the main Christmas tree of the city is decorated with traditional Latvian symbols of strength and protection: rowan, bullfinches and Auseklis.
