Wooden bridges in the Svete River floodplain. Latvia
In Jelgava, there is a 1.6-kilometre-long wooden path on the Svete River floodplain meadows. Raised above the ground, it makes walking along safe during flooding.
The walk can be divided into two routes. The long route is a labyrinth over the meadows, closer to Sniega Street and accessible from Buriņu Road. The short route leads around the Miezīte pond offering beautiful views.
The bridges are equipped with railings with a net and information boards on the platforms. Here, you can observe plants and birds, enjoy the silence and relax in the fresh air.
Cyclists cross the section by walking their bikes alongside. Parking is available on the Miezīte Road opposite the pond, on the side of Buriņu Road or in the square on Vitolu Road near the culvert.
