1. Jaunmoku Castle

Built in 1901, Jaunmoku Castle is located in a quiet hilly place in Kurzeme, 75 kilometers from Riga. The complex includes a park with an area of 9.8 hectares and 6 buildings: a castle or a manor house, a dairy farm, a stable, a barn, a carpentry workshop and a smithy.

2. Ruins of the Vecmoku manor

The Vecmoku estate was first mentioned in 1544. During wartime, there was a concentration camp here, and in 1944 the castle was destroyed. Until nowadays, only the ruins of the master’s house have survived. The estate is surrounded by lovely linden alleys.

3. Castle in Kandava

Kandava Knight’s Castle is one of the oldest castles of the Livonian Order in Western Latvia. It was built in 1253 on the Bruninieku castle mound. In the middle of the 18th century, the castle began to fall apart and to this day only the remains of the protective wall have survived.

4. Pyramids of Dizgari

This complex of several pyramids is regarded as a place of power. It looks mystical and attracts photographers, especially at sunset.

5. Waterfall Abavas Rumba

The second widest waterfall in Latvia (35 meters) is only 1 meter high. In warm weather, tent sites are available here.

6. “Māras kambari” caves

These naturally formed sandstone caves are located on the right bank of the Abava Valley, between Sabile and Renda. From the parking lot, it will take you just a 800-meter walk through a picturesque forest to get there.

7. Waterfalls of the Ivande River

There are three small waterfalls in Renda village.
The largest of the waterfalls is the lower waterfall Rendas rumba, or Ivandes rumba.
Upstream, there is an artificial waterfall, and a bit further – Valdatu rumba.

8. Kuldiga, Latvian “Venice”. This city is marvelous in all seasons.

Must-sees:

• Waterfall Aleksupite
• Ventas rumba waterfall
• City park near the Kuldiga Region Museum
• Old town of Kuldiga (Baznīcas iela 7)
• Aleksupite River: photo locations near “2 Baloži” and behind the “Pagrabiņš” cafe.

We recommend planning 1-2 days for the route.
